Job description

Our client is looking for an Electrical Manager to join their team in North Nottinghamshire. The role will be to lead the Electrical team to ensure highway electrical assets are maintained to standard and external / capital works are delivered to specification and target, safely and efficiently, and all activities are delivered to agreed performance and financial targets.


Main accountabilities:
·Manage, coach, and develop team members to support individuals to achieve their potential and deliver effective business results.
·Evaluate and interpret documentation associated with the planning of works
·to identify and reduce risk providing clear and concise instruction to staff, ensuring resources are in place to deliver agreed works.
·Establish project control across the service ensuring works are delivered to agreed specifications, on time, within budget
·Support the Team Manager to drive improvements in the utilisation of resources employed in the delivery of the highway electrical activities to drive and improve quality standards
·Manage and support Health and Safety, Environmental management across the service ensuring that health and safety legislation, policy and best practice is fully adhered to, ensuring a safe working environment for colleagues and customers
·Support the HERS Officer, Responsible Manager, Authorising Officer and Assessing Officer with the gathering of evidence to comply with the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme/ National Electricity Registration Scheme accreditations.
·Collaborate across the business to ensure that internal works programmes and external projects are developed to maximise efficiency and financial return.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
·Qualification in Electrical Engineering or other appropriate qualification e.g. HNC, Diploma, or NVQ (Level 3)/ Qualified Electrician to C&G2382/2360/2391 and 2-5 years' experience (dependent on qualifications).
·Full UK driving licence
·Knowledge of contract procedures and responsibilities in respect of engineering projects or electrical installation projects or maintenance activities.
·Ability to meet agreed objectives and delivery targets by the effective use of resources.
·Experience of highway lighting, traffic signal installation and maintenance activities and the plant, transport, materials and equipment used in undertaking of such works
·Experience of managing a diverse team of frontline operational and technical staff, including management of performance, conduct and behaviour and experience in addressing poor performance.
·Experience in the operation and use of vehicles, plant, and materials employed in the delivery of highway electrical engineering activity.
·Strong ICT skills with experience of using Asset Management Systems, including Microsoft Office applications, email and the internet.
