Are you a freelance Electrical Design Engineer with utilities experience looking for new projects?
 
Are you interested in a role that allows you to work outside of IR35?

Our client are a boutique Utilities consultancy based in manchester who require an experienced Electrical Design Engineer on a Contract Basis.
 
This will initially be for 1 day per week at their Office in Salford, but more work will be offered if the successful candidate displays competence and a "team player" attitude.
 
The Role
 
Most of the work is designing domestic infrastructure projects, the company work for ICPs who deliver infrastructure being adopted by the local DNO or the appointed IDNO.
 
The majority of their schemes a housing developments where the point of connection is normally provided at LV or 11kV depending on the scheme size; however, there is a new award where the point of connection has been provided at 33kV.
 
Should the point of connection be provided at either 6.6kV or 11kV the design of the substation is part of the package they complete, therefore the designer must have experience designing the substation civils for the 11kV and 33kV substations.
 
 
Experience with design across these voltages is essential and the client are happy to negotiate an hourly rate that suits both parties.
 
As a guideline, £35-40 an hour is the benchmark and can be offered outside IR35.
