Job description

"Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking to shape exciting, meaningful building services projects?"

We're working with a rapidly growing, design-focused building services consultancy based in Oxford that's looking to expand its team with an Electrical Design Engineer. Led by two dynamic Directors, the Oxford office has seen its income triple in the past six months and is now looking to bring in engineers who can take a brief and deliver quality design work independently.

They work across technically challenging projects including laboratories, university buildings, renewable and decarbonisation schemes, and BMS refurbishments. If you're looking to develop your skills and grow within a business that promotes on merit and not years served, this could be the opportunity for you.

Why Join This Team?

·Join a high-performing consultancy that's growing fast, with clear opportunities for personal progression
·Work on complex, stimulating projects
·Engineers get to focus on engineering - CAD work is handled by dedicated technicians
·Flexible hybrid working: 9-day fortnight, typically 3 days in the office and 2 from home
·Generous benefits: 25 days holiday + 3 extra days at Christmas + your birthday off
·Vitality healthcare
·Collaborative culture with open communication and a hands-on leadership team

Key Responsibilities:

·Deliver high-quality electrical designs across RIBA Stages 1 to 4 and beyond
·Work independently from brief through to delivery, supported by a close-knit technical team
·Collaborate with mechanical engineers, CAD technicians, and project stakeholders
·Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and design standards
·Contribute to energy-efficient and low-carbon solutions as part of the company's sustainability focus

What They're Looking For:

·2-4 years' experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment
·Strong knowledge of RIBA Stages 1-4 and a proactive, hands-on approach
·Able to work independently and deliver technical solutions with minimal oversight
·Keen to grow both technically and professionally - including building more client-facing skills over time
·Ideally degree-qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
·Familiarity with industry software (e.g., Amtech, Dialux/Relux) is a bonus

Looking for a role where your input is valued, your development is supported, and progression is based on ability - not time served?
