Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in Devon in the search for a Development Management Manager to join their Development Management team in the Planning department on an initial 6 month contract. The post will initially be home based, however, a phased return to the office is expected so an office presence will be expected overtime.

The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities including:

  • Managing and developing the development management, enforcement and historic conservation functions of the Council.
  • Ensuring the development management, conservation and enforcement statutory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Government Legislation, Policy, procedure and guidance in accord with the Council's Corporate Plan, Business Plans, Service Plans and Development Plans and Policies.
  • The management of the development management staff and budgetary resources.

My client is looking for an experienced manager with extensive experience within Development Management. It would be beneficial to hold a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline, and have the eligibility for membership of RTPI.

This contract will last for an initial 6 month period, however, it is possible that this will roll on.

The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running so experience in a similar role is required.

Carrington West Pay Rate - £50 - £60per/hour (DOE)
