Are you an experienced Building Surveyor looking for a role where your work directly improves homes, safety and living conditions?

We're supporting Warwick District Council in recruiting a Building Surveyor - Disrepair / Damp & Mould. This is a key client-side role responsible for maintaining and improving the Council's housing stock and corporate assets, with a strong focus on disrepair, damp and mould investigations, planned works and project delivery.

You'll take ownership of surveys, specifications, procurement, contract management and project oversight across a varied portfolio  - ensuring compliance, quality, and a safe environment for tenants and building users.

The Role
You'll carry out a wide range of building surveying and project management duties, including:

  • Inspecting properties for damp, mould, disrepair and defects, preparing reports and technical specifications
  • Delivering planned and cyclical works, maintenance projects and improvement programmes
  • Managing contracts: valuations, variations, payment applications, KPIs, performance and final accounts
  • Preparing feasibility studies, drawings, tender documentation and statutory applications
  • Liaising directly with tenants, contractors and internal teams, providing clear technical advice
  • Interpreting stock condition data, FRAs and risk assessments to develop programmes of work
  • Ensuring all works meet relevant legislation including CDM, HHSRS, Awaab's Law and construction standards
  • Projects range from small-scale PPM works (£10k), through to larger Housing Investment Programme projects exceeding £1m 

About You
We're looking for someone with:

  • HNC/HND/Degree in a built-environment discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience carrying out building surveys and managing resulting works
  • Strong project management capability from inception to completion
  • Knowledge of repairs legislation, HHSRS, Disrepair Protocol, Awaab's Law and health & safety requirements
  • Experience managing contractors, budgets and performance
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Confident IT skills, particularly Excel

Professional membership (RICS/CIOB/MCABE) is desirable but not essential.

A driving licence or access to transport is required.
