Are you looking for a public facing role where you can make a real difference in stopping the spread of Covid-19 in the Merton area?
 
If so, this role could be your chance to shine as a Covid Marshall.
 
Who will you be joining?
 
As part of the Marshall team you will be acting as a representative of the local borough council working alongside law enforcement and the public to ensure compliance with Covid restrictions.
 
What will you do?
 
The purpose of this role is to provide a visible presence within Merton to instil confidence in customers, businesses and the general public that the council is taking effective action to make the borough a safe location to work, visit and live in
 
 
·To work with colleagues across the Regulatory Services Partnership, the Council, the Police and other stakeholders.
·To note, report, and request rectification of problems identified whilst carrying out patrols and inspection duties
 
·To work collaboratively to drive up compliance with Covid-19 legislation and guidance within the borough.
·To engage with the public to increase awareness of Covid-19 guidance and gather intelligence regarding areas of concern or poor compliance and share these with regulatory colleagues
 
·To produce timely and accurate reports as required by the Covid Team Leader and other senior managers
 
·Advise the public and businesses at a basic level, referring them to regulatory services officers for enquiries of a more technical nature
 
What will I need?
 
In order to be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills in your application and through out the interview process.
 
·Previous experience in working in a customer-focussed frontline environment, engaging regularly with the public or businesses.
 
·Knowledge of the role of the police and regulatory services in the enforcement of Covid-19 legislation and guidance
 
·Experience of working in a customer-focussed environment and to influence, persuade and achieve through others
·Good oral, written and presentation skills to provide clear and concise messages in a variety of internal and external contexts
·Ability to work as part of a team and be able to deal confidently, calmly and sensitively with the public, businesses, stakeholders and colleagues
·You must be located within 5 miles of the Merton area
