Excellent opportunity for an Commercial Gas Supervisor to join a Specialist Rail Contractor on a Permanent basis in London. The Supervisor will be will be expected to work as required to help build their up and coming Gas department. Historically the client has used trusted subcontractors for their gas works, and is looking to hire in house for this position. As this grows, they will consider an engineer to join and support them. The ideal candidate, will have previous experience working on Network Rail projects.
 
The work includes commercial oil and gas boilers. The candidate is required to have experience in PPM for this equipment. Supervisor will be fully qualified and hold the relevant qualifications to work to OFTEC and Gas safe standards. Natural gas and Oil is required.
 
Location: Greater London  - the candidate will be required to travel
 
Sites include: signal centres, data centres, maintenance depots, train care depots, stations, remote relay rooms trackside.
 
Salary: £42,500pa

- Specialist tooling can be supplied, but hand tools are the responsibility of the candidate
 
Role & Responsibilities:
 
- Assist management in direct oversight of service department's daily operation.
 - Participate in assigned long-term contracts, programs and projects.
- Be directly involved in the work delivery department's routine operations by handling repairs/installs and assisting management with administrative duties.
- Prepare quotations for a variety of work.
- Prepare relevant safety documentation for themselves and engineers as required.
- Develop and maintain effective working relations with Service director and work closely with the service director toward common goals.
- Work to the company's management and quality systems.
- Advise on equipment, materials and subcontract resources.
- Advise on procedures and identify where change could enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in assigning, training & developing the engineering team.
- Work closely with the administration team to ensure quotations are prepared and submitted to the clients promptly.
- Be assigned chosen contracts to manage and will be required to develop customer relations with client contact.
- Work on their own skills to always improve and keep current with the industry. They will take part in (CPD) continual professional development.
- Read, understand and adhere to relevant safety documentation for engineers as required.
- Exercise their OFTEC/GAS SAFE training to a high standard on a daily basis
 
 
This role requires the candidate to hold the relevant qualifications to work to OFTEC and Gas safe standards. Natural gas and Oil is required. Other competencies like SMSTS, SSSTS, PASMA & IPAF are an advantage.
