Due to continued success and growth, my client are looking to grow their Civil Engineering discipline and are looking for an experienced engineer to lead and manage the Winchester team, supporting the existing Associate Partner delivering some exciting projects.
 
As a n Associate, Senior Associate you will be proficient in undertaking all aspects of design and coordination of civil engineering projects. The civil engineering teams provide a comprehensive range of civil engineering design, procurement, coordination, and project management services to support clients through the whole project life cycle. Offering a fully multi-discipline consultancy service or standalone specialist technical services for projects in excess of £100 million in value.
 
The discipline has particular expertise in highways design, pavements, bridges, earthworks engineering, cut and fill assessments, ground remediation, underground services, flood alleviation, sustainable drainage systems, pumping stations and sewerage systems, external works and highway and drainage section agreements (S278, S38 & S104). 
 
Roles and responsibilities:
·Managing and leading project teams
·Working closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects i.e. architects, building services engineers, project managers and cost managers
·Assessing resource levels to deliver challenging projects
·Managing/ mentoring engineers and technicians towards Chartered status
·Prepare client / project proposals to win new work
·Representing the company at client and project meetings to present designs and make key project decisions
·Managing project costs
·Construct project teams from internal and external resources
·Project profitability (monitoring / planning of costs and budgets)
·Procure project resources
·Manage and co-ordinate highways and drainage designs relating to large development infrastructure projects
·Produce Flood Risk Assessments (FRA's), Drainage Strategies, Nutrient Mitigation and other Pre-Planning advice
·Provide day-to-day client interface, conducting site visits for technical assessment or problem-solving.
Experience/skills:
·Strong leadership and commercial skills
·Good communication and interpersonal skills
·Experience in a similar role, ideally within a multi-disciplinary organisation
·Professionally qualified as a chartered engineer (CEng) - desirable
·Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.) or equivalent relevant professional body
·A good understanding of section 38, 278 (Highways Act) and section 104, 106 and 185 (Water industry Act) agreements
·Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and in particular Civil 3D
·As a competent user of Infodrainage / Microdrainage - desirable
·Proven post graduation extensive design experience 
·Experience in drainage (foul and surface) and minor road way design
·Experience with designing a wide range of projects from conception through to completion (including calculations, drawings and specifications)
·Competent in the design of external works
·Familiar with Part H and M of Building Regulations, British Standards and local authority requirements
·Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its application within civil engineering
·A solid understanding of drainage design, SUDS, highways, cut and fill analysis
·Be proficient at design and happy to participate in productive work
·You will have the technical skills, knowledge and experience to find creative solutions for even the most complex challenges and the ability to communicate these clearly to all parties.
