Role: Civil Estimator - Water Industry
Location: Remote/Home based
Duration: 4 weeks +
Rate: £600 per day - Umbrella
Start Date: Asap
My client is looking for an experienced Civil Estimator with experience within the water industry and be responsible for developing a cost estimate for the civil works associated with Wastewater Treatment Works, Pipelines and Sludge Treatment facilities on a 1st principal basis.
The Civil Estimator will work in the Program Management and Oversight Branch in major infrastructure projects in the water sector and as such experience in this regard is a key requirement as detail maybe unavailable leaving the Civil Estimator to use experience to generate the Bill of quantities.
Responsibilities Include:
·Recognize and apply estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling all types of estimates.
·Recognize how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact the estimate and quantifies the impact.
·Provide complete conceptual and final estimating input to ensure successful delivery.
·Responsible for performing all aspects of estimating tasks as allocated.
·Assist in the preparation of the final Estimate Plan.
·Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria.
·Provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel to enable successful delivery.
·Develop wage rate build-ups and cost loaded staffing requirements needed to construct and deliver the work packages.
·Develop detailed material take-offs for procurement of bulk materials.
·Abide by Cost Capture principles and apply WBS and CBS as necessary and required.
The role is for an initial 4 weeks with potential for the role to be extended based on workload.
