Carrington West are pleased to present an exciting new opportunity with our client, a leading consultancy and professional services provider. They have been providing services to major areas of infrastructure for over 25 years and due to continued growth are now looking for a Business Development Director to support and lead their work within Water Operations.
Their work within the water sector include leakage networks data collection, wastewater flow and survey analysis; utility, land, bridges and building surveying as well as sampling and raw water environment surveying.
 
The role:

The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director. The key facets of the role will be to realise and execute a 5-year business development strategy plan, building upon the companies current frameworks in asset, land survey, water and wastewater services across the UK and Ireland. Additionally, you will be responsible for building on existing relationships and technology.
Strategy will be aligned to overall business ambition and positioning the team to leverage existing and emerging innovations to ensure that the firms surveying capability is truly meeting the expectations of the digital age - you will need foresight, energy and determination to be successful in this role.

Organic growth will be with existing contracts and clients. New growth will include the development of adjacent services, in and out of sector, and the preparation of business cases to introduce strategic step change initiatives and acquisition to ensure long term business sustainability.

You will take the lead on projects and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
 
What you'll need:

You will be a dynamic and well-rounded sales leader with a demonstrable track record in developing and winning new business as well as leveraging sector and inter-company innovation to maximise and develop growth opportunities. You will need exceptional communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively and a real focus on the desire to get things done.
 
Previous experience within a similar role within the water sector or professional services provider would be advantageous.
