The Role and Responsibilities
As a Structures Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting structural inspections, investigations, and surveys on a range of civil engineering assets across the highways sector. Your key duties will include:
·Using specialist access techniques to inspect and examine various structures throughout the UK, ensuring compliance with technical standards and specifications.
·Leading the safe and efficient delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations, and Surveys.
·Supporting pre-work planning activities, including liaising with landowners, agents, contractors, and reviewing proposed safe systems of work.
·Preparing inspection reports and producing detailed drawings using CAD software.
·Working within a growing team on railway infrastructure projects.
 
Must Have Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should have:
·Experience in a Structures Inspector role, with knowledge of industry standards, including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
·Familiarity with CS450 and the Inspection Manual for Highways Structures.
·Progression towards a Senior or Inspector qualification under the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS).
·Experience using asset management software such as IAMIS, AGILE, or Bridge Station.
·A degree, HNC, or HND in civil or structural engineering (desirable).
·Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel and work nationwide.
·The ability to work at height and in confined spaces.
 
Rate/Salary and Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary of up to £42,245, depending on experience and competency level. In addition to the salary, you will receive:
