Job description

As a BIM Manager, you will be working as part of our clients transport department. The position will predominantly be office based, including potentially working from co-located client/project offices and occasional travel will be necessary. You'll be joining colleagues from all over the world working on a wide range of projects both nationally and internationally.
 
This is a long term contract role that falls outside of IR35.
 
The role:
 
·Liaise with both internal and external clients to ascertain or define project BIM and Digital Information requirements
·Develop project digital strategies working with the project manager and other disciplines leads. This may be limited to just the clients disciplines or may cover all project disciplines
·Work closely with the project manager to support successful delivery of the digital aspects of the project from conception to completion
·Produce and manage project BIM documentation including; BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Master Information Delivery Plans, Model Production Delivery Tables, and Task Information Delivery Plans
·Ensure that the project team deliver an appropriate and useable Asset Information Model at the end of the project
·Support the management of software packages including advising on when to upgrade to new versions and the need for software customisation
·Support the management and implementation of Common Data Environments on Transport projects
·Stay informed on industry best practice for the Transport market and advise on how best to implement these
·Awareness and understanding of the ISO 19650 suite of documents and processes
·Contribute to BIM standards development and implementation
·Support creation and maintenance of software template files to ensure standards are maintained
·Contribute to developing automated workflows to support standards and increase productivity/digitalisation
·Provide quality control and assess adherence to standards of all authored deliverables. Including auditing projects and reviewing the day-to-day activities of BIM Specialists
·Support the Transport BIM Network in growing BIM understanding and capability for the market
·Assist hardware/software and network support related to digital production and review
·Assist in troubleshooting IT/hardware/software/technical problems and work with E&A tools team to resolve
·Identify trends and business opportunities relating to BIM
·Support general and project-specific training to internal and external team members on processes, tools, and project requirements
·Be involved in internal awareness training on BIM processes and new technologies
·Maintain competency of relevant software through continued use and training
·Maintain and develop good awareness of relevant developments in the industry and disseminate that back to teams and individuals within the business
 
Key experience:
 
·Experience in managing the BIM and Digital Information element of multi-disciplinary projects
·Experience of working with Common Data Environments
·Experience in software user/team training
·Experience and understanding of managing teams to deliver project data to industry standards
·Experience in engineering production in an Architecture Engineering and Construction company
·An understanding of transport related model authoring tools
·An understanding of model federation and reviewing packages such as Navisworks or Solibri
·Working knowledge of model authoring software relevant to BIM for transport
·A drive to pursue continued education on BIM and related technologies
