Job description

Carrington West are looking for a vastly experienced Building Control Professional to operate as the Associate director in the North of England for a major Approved inspector. The Salary for this role is negotiable.

Responsibilities & Duties
·Manage a caseload of projects in accordance with CICAIR Code of Conduct and the Building Control Performance Standards.
·Examine submitted plans, including undertaking relevant statutory consultations, to produce reports in order to determine compliance with the Building Regulations, The Building (Approved Inspector etc.) Regulations, and the Building Act.
·Undertake site inspections of building works and record relevant notes contemporaneously, taking action where appropriate.
·Initiate the invoicing of design stage and site inspection fees. Includes liaising with the Credit Controller to resolve debtors.
·Commit to and maintain relevant continuing professional development in accordance with the requirements of CICAIR, professional institutions, and the Ball and Berry CPD Policy.
·Assist/manage with the training, development, and supervision of the Technical Team.
·Utilise the support team with regards to the administration of issuing Initial Notices, Amendment Notices, Plans Certificates, and Final Certificates.
·Actively market the services provided by Ball and Berry to current and prospective clients in a professional manner.
·Assist/manage with the training, development, and supervision of the Technical Team.
·Contribute to a continuously improving service in accordance with the Quality Management System.
·Actively participate in the company's development and implementation of electronic service delivery mechanisms.
 
Qualifications
·Corporate Membership of the Building Control faculty of the RICS, CIOB, or CABE and relevant Building Control experience.
·Experience of working unaided as a Building Control Surveyor on both domestic and commercial projects.
·Experience in both technical and general administrative procedures, using current ICT methods.
·Knowledge of the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations, Building Regulations, and associated legislation.
·An ability to be organised and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with all those we work with.
·The Building Control Surveyor will be expected to visit and inspect construction sites at various stages of work and therefore will need to demonstrate the ability to do this.
