My clients' Transportation business brings together the capabilities of their Rail, Highway and Local Transport teams. The Transportation business covers all aspects of multidisciplinary design and management, from inception and options appraisal through to detailed design and delivery/construction support. It is their centre of excellence for the design of roads and rail infrastructure projects. They aim to be the first-choice designer for local and national roads authorities, contractors, and developers.
 
To meet growth ambitions, they are seeking Assistant Structural Engineers to support in their delivery of a significant portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects in Gloucestershire.  You will be working on some of the key infrastructure projects within Gloucestershire as part of their Gloucestershire Highways Commission.
 
To get the most out of this opportunity they would expect ambitious, focused, and determined individuals to support a range of Infrastructure projects, ranging from small to large in scale.
You will be able to demonstrate technical and project delivery experience involving new build analysis, detailed design, bridge inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation schemes. You should also be passionate about bridge design, have a desire to succeed and be part of a winning team.
 
Key responsibilities:
·Preparation of bridge and bridge-related structural scheme designs at all design stages.
·Supervising the production of design drawings or other project related design deliverables.
·You will be responsible for resolving technical issues as they occur and for the monitoring of progress of your areas of responsibility.
·Organising and carrying out General, Principal, and Special Bridge Inspections.
 
Key requirements:
·BEng, MEng, or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
·Knowledge of the DMRB and Eurocodes in the field of structural design.
·Experience of using a structural engineering software.
·Experience of bridge design, analysis, assessment, and inspection.
