Assistant Engineer - Bridges
 
The role would suit a person who has a previous Civils or construction and Project delivery background with preferably some relevant experience of Highway structures assets and who thrives on responsibility, continuous performance improvement and customer focus.Excellent development and training opportunities. Suitable for graduate candidate wanting excellent experience within structural engineering. Predominantly work from home with 50% site visits required, therefore, will need to live within commutable distance to Bristol. Excellent benefits e.g. flexible working.
 
 Key accountabilities:
Responsible for the effective management and development for the delivery of all allocated Annual Capital Programmes and Budgets within the overall Structures Team.
·Responsible for negotiating, monitoring, and managing Transport's portfolio of supplier contracts to secure the overall improvements and other benefits set out in each contract.
·Responsible for the effective management and development for the delivery of all allocated Annual Capital Programmes and Budgets within the overall Structures Team.
·To optimise the efficiency, effectiveness and economy of the service or relationship described by each contract, balancing costs against risks and actively managing the customer provider relationship.  
·To undertake projects and re-engineering processes to achieve targeted performance improvements.
·Develop specific expertise in the team's overall work programme, with the aim of becoming a source of authoritative advice and guidance to current and future project teams within Transportation.
·Contribute to the development of service improvement and quality assurance regarding allocated functions, to respond to operational needs, maximise service provision by creating, developing and implementing innovative working solutions.
·Communicate and interpret a range of technical transport related information from internal sources or external stakeholders to progress the work of the team.
