Job Title: Works Manager - Highway Schemes
Location: Bristol Area
Contract: Freelance, Full time
We are seeking an experienced Works Manager to join our team and oversee the delivery of our highway schemes in the Bristol area. As a Works Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our projects, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
·Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple highway schemes, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards
·Liaise with Project Managers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
·Manage and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that they deliver their work to the required quality and standards
·Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that work is progressing as planned and to identify any potential issues or risks
·Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and standards
·Manage and maintain project documentation and records, ensuring that they are accurate and up-to-date
·Monitor project costs and manage budgets, ensuring that costs are kept within budget
·Provide leadership and support to site teams, ensuring that they are motivated and working efficiently
·Attend and contribute to project meetings with stakeholders and clients, providing updates on project progress and identifying any issues or risks
Skills and Experience:
·A degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline
·Minimum of 5 years' experience in works management, preferably in the highways sector
·Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
·Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks
·Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
·Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards
