The role: Water Install & Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)
Location: Guildford
Salary: £30,576 - £43,680 per annum (Higher OTE)
Duration: 6 Months - Temporary  to Permanent
Schedule: 42 Hours per week Monday to Friday + Opportunity for significant overtime
 
Are you looking for your next opportunity as a mechanical engineer in the water sector?
Do you have experience in the water sector as a mechanical Fitter or with maintenance experience?
 
My client has a new large contract covering multiple sites on the Southern Water framework and is looking for experienced mechanical engineers to undertake multiple installation tasks as well as completing maintenance objectives. You will need to be keen to succeed as part of a team and perform to high quality standards in a pressured environment.
In this role you will be provided with a company van for travel to site that you will use to get from door to door.
You will ideally some mechanical knowledge, previous water sector experience is desirable. For e.g. having previously worked on projects that are attached to WWTW / WTW clean or waste water treatment works and/or pumping stations.
The main duties in this role are:
·Installation and repair of a range of mechanical equipment including Gearboxes and fans
·Quality assurance and maintaining existing Pumps as well as replacing/ installing new when necessary
·Using Steel work, CAT Ladders and handrails to carry out work.
Weekend and nightwork is expected to be worked when required, and the client has a very generous overtime scheme up to 2x base rate to compensate this as well as additional pay for confined space work. These details can be discussed after the initial application.
 
The successful applicant must have
·Experience of performing site based installation or maintenance
·A full UK driving licence
It would be highly advantageous but not essential to have any of the below
·CSCS card
·Thames Water Safety passport
·Utilities Industry Experience
·EUSR clean water card
·Formal Mechanical Engineering Qualification (C&G/NVQ or similar)
