Job description

Transport Planner | Step-Up Role | London / Oxfordshire / Hybrid | Development-Focused Consultancy
If you're a Transport Planner with 1-3 years of experience, and you're starting to feel ready for a new challenge - this role could be exactly what you need.
I'm working with a leading, employee-owned consultancy that's looking for someone just like you: technically capable, commercially aware, and ready to take that next step. You'll be joining a well-established team with a strong reputation for delivering transport planning and infrastructure design work on major private-sector developments.
This is ideal for someone who's gained a solid foundation in transport planning, understands how things are done, and now wants more ownership, better mentoring, and a clearer route to progression.

The Role - What You'll Be Getting Stuck Into
You'll be delivering development-led transport planning work across housing, mixed-use and commercial schemes - everything from a few dozen homes to strategic sites with thousands of units.
Your day-to-day will include:
·Preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Feasibility Studies
·Supporting the development of transport strategies and access solutions
·Using tools like AutoCAD, TRICS, GIS, Junctions 10, and LinSig
·Analysing traffic data and interpreting modelling outputs
·Working closely with senior planners and clients to deliver high-quality advice
·Gaining exposure to multidisciplinary teams and real project delivery

You're Probably Ready for This If You:
·Have 1-3 years' experience in a consultancy or similar planning/engineering environment
·Hold a degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a similar field
·Are confident using tools like AutoCAD, Excel, TRICS, and have some exposure to modelling software (Junctions, LinSig, etc.)
·Are comfortable writing reports and presenting your findings clearly
·Are keen to work on development projects and help shape better, more sustainable places
·Want to be supported by experienced professionals who'll help you grow

What You'll Get
·Salary in line with experience, with annual reviews
·Hybrid working - typically 2-3 days in the office (London or Oxfordshire)
·25 days annual leave (plus buy/sell/carry options)
·Annual EOT bonus (employee-owned structure)
·Private GP access, medical insurance, and gym discounts
·Fully paid professional subscriptions
·Tailored training and development pathways
·Flexible working hours and a culture that genuinely respects work/life balance
