Job description
Transport Planner
Our client is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their growing team and work from one of their offices on a hybrid working basis.
They are looking for an experienced Transport Planner / Engineer who has suitable qualifications and experience and recently worked in the transport development planning sector. We invite candidates with varying levels of experience to work on a wide-ranging mix of projects for Clients from the private and public sector who repeatedly appoint my client to provide engineering advice for large- and small-scale development projects.
Requirements:
·Experience of writing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans and knowledge of the transport development planning process in the UK
·Experience of liaising with development design teams and UK local highway and planning authorities
·Competent with software such ARCADY, PICADY (Junctions 10 software) and familiar LINSIG
·Familiar with local and national highway design guidance for developments including DMRB and MfS
·Able to critique development layouts in relation to access, parking and transport facilities and undertake concept highway design, ideally using AutoCAD. Experience of vehicle tracking software is preferable.
·Able to assess the suitability of a development site in terms of sustainable transport and road safety.
·Able to analyse traffic and multi modal trip generation data including use of TRICS
·Able to proactively work in a multi-disciplined design team while confident to work independently to solve problems
·Good communication
