Traffic Signals Engineer
Are you a experienced Traffic Signals Engineer looking for a new opportunity?
The Traffic Signals Engineer will support an Engineering team, who are responsible for the concept, design, and delivery of traffic signal schemes, from conception through to construction completion.
We are looking to recruit at Engineer level, however, we will consider applications at Assistant Engineer level to reflect your experience:
Engineer: £36,298 - £39,493
Assistant Engineer: £32,020 - £34,723
What will you be doing?
·If successful for the role of Assistant Engineer, you will receive additional support and, pending demonstration of meeting the requirements, you will be able progress to the role of Engineer.
·It will be your responsibility to design and supervise traffic signal schemes, liaising with in-house teams as part of the design process and monitor scheme budgets.
·You will be involved in the creation and development of new processes and policies for the delivery of traffic signals.
·It will your responsibly to complete Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
·It will be key for you to communicate with various stakeholders such as members of the public, councillors, and parish councils to ensure effective delivery of the traffic signal schemes.
·You will be preparing reports for presentation to the Director of our Place department and other members of senior leadership.
·On a daily basis you will be managing the preparation of construction information, including relevant Health and Safety documents in accordance with the CDM Regulations in order for works to be implemented by our in-house contractor.
What we need from you
·It is essential for you to be educated to a level 4 or 5 level qualification, for example a HNC/D in an appropriate discipline, or you will have considerable relevant experience
·We require you to have a thorough knowledge of the relevant sections of the DfT Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 6, a good knowledge of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions and have previous experience of providing design input during the construction phase.
·You will have a good knowledge of the relevant Health and Safety legislation including the CDM Regulations.
·It is preferred but not essential that you will have a professional accreditation (IEng.)
·To be considered for the Engineer role:
·It is essential for you that you have a degree in Engineering or equivalent or you will have considerable relevant experience.
·You must be able to provide supervisory support to assistant engineers within the team.
