Traffic Engineer
 
The dedicated Carrington West Highways, Traffic & Transportation Recruitment Team are delighted to be assisting their client with its search for a Traffic Engineer on an ongoing basis.
 
Responsible for the initiation, planning and implementation of minor highway, traffic and road safety schemes
 
 
Responsibilities:
·Liaison with client, local Councillors, stakeholders and third parties and attend Highway Area Highway Groups where necessary
·Liaise with other team members associated with the design and supervision of allocated schemes
·Ensure the scheme design complies with the specification and agreed programme
·Maintain accurate records on the allocated projects - including managing the project budgets for time and works
·Manage all aspects of correspondence relating to work areas
 
 
Competencies:
·Ability to deal effectively with peers and client representatives.
·Effective supervision of cost and value.
·Ability to work with minimal supervision on allocated schemes to both time and budget
·Use of applicable computer software packages
· To manage his / her own time in an effective manner, ensuring appointments are met and reporting requirements met
·An understanding of technical memoranda, manuals and other technical and design guidance
·Good knowledge of traffic engineering related procedures, highway law, statutory procedures
