Traffic Engineer
 
We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Engineer to investigate, design and deliver traffic management, safety and parking schemes - including speed limits, yellow lines and traffic regulation orders.
A significant proportion of the workload will include writing traffic regulation orders, so previous experience in this field is essential
 
Job Description
 
·Identify, design and deliver schemes and initiatives that contribute to the Traffic Management service function
·Assist the Team Leader (NRSWA & Traffic Management) in developing and implementing schemes
·Procure, develop, implement and improve Council traffic and transport control monitoring and information systems using robust, reliable and adaptable solutions
·Contribute to the corporate formulation and delivery of the Council's policies, objectives and plans and to help support delivery of the Council's vision and values
·Prepare reports and analysis associated with the identification, delivery and monitoring of the road safety or traffic management service function
·Respond to changes in workload and changing priorities by carrying out the role in a flexible manner which may include working extended hours, at the beginning and/or end of the day.  Additionally, on occasions, out of hours working may be required.
·Flexibility to meet the changing demands of the role and ability to deal with those demands.
·Monitor and analyse the workload and priorities, amend timescales and programmes as required and continually review programme of work to ensure deadlines are being met
