My client in the London, is seeking experienced Town Planning Policy with experience of Climate Resilience Supplementary Planning Document, to join their Planning Policy team for an initial period of 6 months.
 
The London Borough declared a Climate Emergency in recent years and developed a Carbon Neutral Plan which sets out the trajectory to net zero by 2030.
The Borough is committed to reducing emissions and safeguarding our communities. The number of households in the Borough is predicted to increase 41% between 2013 and 2041. Successfully combining growth, prosperity, action on climate change and reducing air pollution is a challenge.
 
This exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Planning Policy Team, where they are looking for an experienced planning policy officer who is passionate about environmental issues.
The role will be key to the successful progress of the Carbon Neutral Plan and setting the Borough on the path to reaching the net zero target.  In this post you will:
·Lead the preparation of a Climate Resilience Supplementary Planning Document encompassing energy and carbon reduction, biodiversity, flood risk, waste and air quality;
·Review the Local Plan polices on climate change and sustainability and associated evidence, to go beyond the current policy regime both locally and in the London Plan;
 
This role can be worked on a hybrid basis, generally 2 days per week in the office is required.
 
To be suitable for this role you must have experience as a Tonw Planning Policy Officer
