The role: Thames Water framework - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Thames Water Framework - Multi site (in and around London)
Salary: £180 - £240 P/D - Inside IR35
Duration: Long Term/ Ongoing
Schedule: 40-50 hours per week, Monday - Friday (Evening and weekend overtime often available)
 
Are you looking for your next opportunity as a mechanical engineer in the water sector?
Do you have experience as a mechanical Fitter or with mechanical maintenance experience?
 
My client is a leading sub-contractor on Thames Water, Responsible for Mechanical repair and Maintenance work across the entire framework, with some install work also required.
In this role you will be provided with a company vehicle or be compensated with a fuel card for using your own vehicle depending on availability.
You will need to have mechanical knowledge and site based mechanical experience, previous water sector experience is desirable but not essential. For e.g. having previously worked on projects that are attached to WWTW / WTW clean or waste water treatment works and/or pumping stations.
I also want to hear from you if you have mechanical fitter experience in water/other industries, notably transferable industries include marine engineering and the oil and gas sector.
You will be working with an experienced water sector team so learning the specifics on the job and expanding your knowledge/experience is possible.
 
The main duties in this role are:
·Maintenance and repair of screens, tanks, metal/steel works, gear boxes and compressors across multiple sites on the Thames water framework
·Install of the above equipment when required
·Using Steel work, CAT Ladders and handrails to carry out work
Weekend and evening work is not expected but is desirable with overtime available.
 
The successful applicant must have
·Experience of performing site based mechanical installation or maintenance
·A full UK driving license (maximum 6 points)
 
It would be highly advantageous but not essential to have any of the below
·CSCS card
·Thames Water Safety passport
·Utilities Industry Experience - namely marine engineering/oil and gas
·EUSR clean water card/ water hygiene card
·Formal Mechanical Engineering Qualification (C&G/NVQ or similar)
