Job description

We are seeking a Technology Site Inspector to join our clients team working on a major highways project. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented professional with experience in the installation and inspection of technology systems on highways projects. As a Technology Site Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of technology systems used on highways, including traffic management systems, communications, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Our client is looking for a "doer" on site, who can advise and correct issues once they are found.
 
This is a long term contract position that falls outside IR35.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Inspect the installation, testing, and commissioning of highway technology systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
·Monitor contractor work to ensure adherence to quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
·Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and contractors to resolve any on-site issues or technical challenges.
·Conduct site visits, audits, and progress reports to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
·Ensure that all equipment and systems (e.g., CCTV, Variable Message Signs, traffic signals) are installed and functioning as per design.
·Maintain accurate documentation and inspection records, reporting any defects, risks, or non-compliance.
·Liaise with stakeholders to provide technical guidance and support where necessary.

What We're Looking For:
 
·Proven experience in inspecting technology systems on major highways or large infrastructure projects.
·Strong understanding of highways technology, including ITS, SCADA systems, CCTV, and traffic control systems.
·Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
·Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
·Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards in the construction industry.
·Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
·Relevant certifications or qualifications in technology systems, electrical engineering, or related fields.
·Experience working on National Highways or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
·Familiarity with traffic management systems and industry-specific technology.
