Streetworks Inspector
 
Carrington West are currently recruiting for an experienced Streetworks Inspector to join a highway maintenance team in Buckinghamshire. As part of the impact of HS2 on the area, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all aspects of NRSWA, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and the HS2 Act 2017 to ensure that disruption is minimised on Buckinghamshire's road network.
 
This role involves time spent outdoors and travelling across the network in various weather conditions to undertake inspections in line with statutory requirements.
The successful candidate must have previous experience within highway inspections and be fully NRSWA accredited. They will communicate effectively, drive improvements to safety and efficiencies as well as having a proven ability to maintain detailed records.
 
To be successful you will have:

·Proven highway inspection experience
·NRSWA Accredited
·Proven ability to collect accurate asset and defect information
·Ability to manage time effectively and planning own workload
·Knowledge of NRSWA, HS2 Act, CDM and Health & Safety Knowledge
·Competent IT skills including the ability to adapt to various software (Excel, Confirm)
·Good geographical knowledge of Buckinghamshire area
 
You will be responsible for:
·Carrying out and recording inspections at all stages of the construction cycle, and be able to instigate the defect procedure for non-compliance
·Being fully conversant with Streetworks packages, and have the ability to manipulate data in such packages
·Supervision of civil engineering contracts, and road opening and reinstatement procedures
·Ensuring the requirements of the Buckinghamshire Roadworks Permit Scheme are adhered to
·Gathering and collating evidence in relation to the enforcement of NRSWA, TMA, HS2 Acts
·Attending Local and County HS2 meetings
·Liaising with members of the public, Area Office Staff, Local Councils, other County Council Departments and other authorities on matters related to NRSWA, TMA and HS2.
