Position: Street Lighting Estimator
 
Salary: £45,000-£50,000
 
Location: East Midlands, UK
 
My client are a Street Lighting installation and maintenance contractor based in the Leicestershire, East Midlands area, serving clients within the highways and civil engineering fields to install and maintain street lighting within the Midlands region.
 
Following a period of rapid growth and a building reputation for street lighting within the area, they are seeking a Street Lighting Estimator experienced in street lighting to join the team, being based in their head office in Leicestershire to assist with all commercial functions within the business and secure new client opportunities. Day-to-day Responsibilities:
 
·Estimate Preparation: The Street Lighting Estimator will take responsibility for preparing detailed estimates for street lighting projects, factoring in material costs, labour expenses, equipment usage and general project requirements.
·Client Communications: Be the first point of contact for valued client relationships, assisting them with any queries or project costs and negotiate pricing to optimize budgets and generate profit.
·Business Development : Obtain new clients within the civil engineering field to build working relationships with.
·Project Documentation: Maintaining and organising all estimates, contracts, and relevant project information.
·Monthly Applications: Assisting with the preparation of monthly applications and final accounts
·Interdepartmental Collaboration: Liaising with other departments within the business to ensure smooth project execution and co-ordination.
·Cost Optimisation: Suggesting cost-effective alternatives to enhance project efficiency and remain competitive.
·Market Research: Staying frequently updated with industry trends and technologies and making suggestions to company innovations.
 
Key Requirements:
 
·Be within commutable distance from the head office in the East Midlands area
·Have a UK's driver's license and access to own car
·Street lighting experience of at least one year is essential
·Strong knowledge of street lighting materials, techniques, and industry best practices
·Estimating experience is preferred but not essential
·Computer literacy and experience in Microsoft packages
·A willingness to progress within the role and develop expertise and industry knowledge within estimating and street lighting
·Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
·Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers, clients, and internal teams
