Job description

Due to a huge increase in workload and a number of upcoming schemes being announced, we are seeking a Street Lighting Design Engineer to work from our clients flagship offices in North London.
 
The successful Street Lighting Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design, project management and delivery of road, urban and amenity lighting schemes. You will also carry out site surveys, and assist in the production of electrical designs / contract documentation (including BOQs).
 
Whether you're from the public or private sector, you'll be someone with motivation to develop your skills and work alongside our experienced team to deliver effective, creative and efficient services.
 
A bit about the role:
·Undertaking street lighting, architectural lighting, and electrical designs.
·Undertaking surveys, site work and assessments.
·Preparation of design deliverables e.g. reports, calculations, drawings, tender documentation, BOQs etc
·Carryout designs proficiently using industry standard software i.e. CAD, Lighting Reality, Amtech (Trimble),  
·Provide technical advice. Able to demonstrate good working knowledge of relevant lighting standards and guidelines e.g. (including but not limited to BS5489, BSEN 13201 and BS7671), ILP publications, DMRB and MCHW
·Close coordination and liaison with other internal disciplines, manufacturers, clients, and stakeholder.
·This role involves some travel to project sites and offices across the country, and possible for overnight stays.  
 
About you:
 
·Holds an electrical or engineering based qualification.
·Experienced in producing street lighting designs for both public and private sectors. 
·Can demonstrate good understanding of the following elements in lighting design: feasibility, design standards, construction, maintenance, health and safety, value engineering, and energy savings.
·4 years minimum working experience in either of the following roles lighting technician / designer / engineer.
·Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing environments and project requirement.
·G39 and ESCS card holder (desirable).
·ILP / IET Member registration (desirable).
