We are currently looking for an Lighting Design Engineer to join the Lighting Design Team of fast-growing consultancy in London.
 
As the Lighting Design Engineer, you will work with the lighting team to deliver exterior lighting projects (roads and amenity areas), EV charging, ITS, and smart city schemes. You will carry out site surveys, produce electrical designs drawings, reports, and other documentation.
You will be required to take ownership of the design related tasks throughout the design and construction processes.
In addition, you will undertake various checks to ensure designs proposals are feasible and coordinated with other disciplines, constructible, and can be safely maintained.
 
The role
·Undertaking site surveys and assessments.
·Undertaking electrical designs and calculations using Amtech software or similar.
·Electrical schematics, schedules, and associated works.
·Assessing DNO networks, plans, and proposals.
·Preparing reports and presentations (feasibility to detailed reports).
·Estimating and budget preparation.
·Ensure all project files are up to date and comply with the QMS system
·Preparing drawings using AutoCAD.
·Undertake risk assessments
·Assist Project Managers to ensure that deadlines are met and within budget
·Liaisons with third parties including manufacturers, clients, and contractors
 
The Ideal Candidate
·Ideally you will have a minimum 4 years' experience (preferably in a consultancy within a street lighting or electrical design team)
·Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
·Experience of using AutoCAD to create detailed street lighting drawings.  Microsoft Office
·Experience of using electrical design software to produce detailed electrical calculations
·Experience of producing concept, preliminary, and detailed lighting designs
·Site survey experience
·Good understanding of lighting standards BS 7671 18th Edition, and guidance Notes.
·Experience in dealing with DNOs, manufactures, and contractors.
·Desirable experience in EV charging, ITS, street lighting.
