Site Supervisor
We have an exciting new role for someone who is passionate, experienced and interested in being apart of a company who are a large, established organisation and the leading providers of infrastructure services, construction and property development.
Our client has been appointed to undertake cable and electrical infrastructure projects across the Southern and Eastern Power Networks (SPN & EPN). This role will be primarily based in Bury St Edmunds. They will be looking for a Site supervisor for the supervision and recording of information and convey to the Project Manager. Also, general site supervision duties in Cambridge.
Accountabilities
·Works to support the aspirations and aims of their Site Manager, Project Manager, and the client
·Personally, enforces high standards across the board on their site(s) to maintain safe and effective delivery
·Places safety at the heart of everything we do and undertakes the 8P's of 'Prove It'.
·Leads and supervises the work of mixed collaborative teams of various ADM direct labour and subcontractors
·Sets people to work in accordance with UKPN HSS 01 015 and any SSoW or permit/LOA requirements
·Checks and publicises the appointment of the Person in Charge of Safety (PICoS)
·Checks the work party's comprehension of the Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) and sign-on
·Ensures the work party has taken into account the additional UKPN-specific H&S requirements of HSS 01 058
·Completion and submission of Daily Diary, Plant & Equipment Inspections, inspections of excavations and the like and Site Inspections and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
·Adds value to projects through new or improved ways of working, innovation and value management
·Supports the Site Manager in his Principal Contractor responsibility where the client is appointed under the CDM Regulations by ensuring:
oThe significant risks to all personnel are assessed and appropriate controls implemented
oAll individuals are competent to undertake the task allocated to them
oThat the Site Competency Matrix is kept up to date and displayed on the site notice board
oAll procedures are correctly implemented and complied with and workers inducted
oAll workers have correct PPE, tools and equipment and ensuring it is inspected and maintained.
oThat all permits, permissions, consents and the like are in place and valid before works start
oThat all RAMS, safety updates, TBTs and Daily Activity Briefings are given and understood
oRegular site/team safety, health and environmental inspections are undertaken and findings actioned
All personnel for whom they are responsible are aware of "our way of working" and implement
Essential
·Operationally and commercially aware within the Utilities environment
·Proven experience in a similar role within the power or another utility sector.
·Demonstrate leadership to site teams in collaborative culture, safety and quality
·Able to supervise and report against programme requirements (P6)
·Demonstrate thorough knowledge and experience of construction requirements
·Embraces the values of Collaborative, Trusted and Focused
·CSCS and SMSTS/SSSTS holder
·Knowledge of UKPN specifications and industry standards - HSG 47, GS6 etc.
·Understanding of UKPN technical requirements and working practices
·Excellent communication/leadership skills
·Management of subcontractors and direct labour within a multi trade environment
·First Aider and UK driving licence holder.
Desirable
·Knowledge of gas, water and communications installations
·UKPN 132kV Substation Entry and Long Objects Competency holder
·UKPN Authorised Person (various voltages)
·SWQR / LANTRA M6 Streetworks ticket
·IOSH/NEBOSH certification

Rate of Pay
£200-£250 PAYE
