Our client is looking for a Service Delivery Manager to join their Environmental and Operational support team. The role will involve supporting the Team Manager with the day to management of the service. The team has over 45 team members and this role would have 3 direct reports. The Environmental and Operational support team does reactive and routine maintenance and is responsible Drainage, Incident response, Winter Maintenance and Forestry.
 
Responsibilities:
·Work with the Team Manager to support individual teams within the service.
·To support the management and delivery of a 24/7/365 service to respond efficiently to problems and emergencies that occur on the highway, and to support other major emergencies as required.
·Help delivery the operational service provided by each team.
·Leading operational change where necessary.
·Aiding with performance management of both operational output and staff within the service.
·Work with contract managers and stakeholder on work programmes.
·Budget management.
·To support the development of new business opportunities for the Team, in conjunction with the Team Manager, to grow the service and improve the financial standing of the business.
·Provide support and direction to enable teams to create clear plans and priorities.
 
Key skills:
·Commercial awareness and external market knowledge.
·Background in civil or highway engineering or maintenance.
·Experience leading teams and managing personnel on a day to day basis.
·Be able to adapt to change workloads
·Ability to build strong relationship with team members and external clients / stakeholders.
·Strong IT skills including work on large data set / spreadsheets (Excel).
·Strong communication, influence and engagement skills across all levels of an organization and with external stakeholders.
