Senior Transport Planner
You'll be joining as a Senior Transport Planner in Birmingham, where you'll work on a wide mix of development and infrastructure projects that directly influence how people move around the city and beyond. What you'll be doing day to day:
As a Senior Transport Planner, you will take ownership of your own projects and support others by:
·Preparing Transport Notes, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Site Access Appraisals.
·Applying your understanding of relevant local and national transport policy and guidance.
·Using Junctions software (ARCADY and PICADY) for junction capacity assessments.
·Undertaking traffic signal design using LinSig.
·Producing preliminary design of accesses, junction improvements and highway schemes using AutoCAD.
·Preparing high-quality graphics and plans using GIS packages and/or CorelDRAW.
·Gaining exposure to project management, including client communication, progress reporting and contributing to fee proposals.
What you'll bring:
To thrive as a Senior Transport Planner in this role, you will need:
·Experience in development-related transport planning.
·A formal education in Civil Engineering, Geography, Transport Planning or a related discipline.
·Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body such as CIHT or ICE.
·Strong analytical skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
·A high standard of work ethic, with the ability to use your initiative and work both independently and as part of a team.
