Job description

My client are an award-winning engineering consultancy based in Nottingham.  As  company they believe that the social, economic, and environmental benefits of infrastructure bring people together, expand horizons, and boost the economy.  Since inception they have grown to employ 22 people, providing consultancy services to the property development sector in Transport Planning, Infrastructure Design and Water Management.  Due to continued success and a strong forward workload, they are looking to expand their Transport Planning Team via the appointment of an experienced individual at Principal Engineer or Associate level.
 
Specifically, they have several ongoing large projects (1,000 houses, or > a million sqft of employment space) in addition to many medium and small projects.  They are interested in someone with the capability to lead, or be a significant deputy, on one or more of their large projects, while also juggling a workload of other projects. 
 
Accordingly, they are looking for an individual who:
·Is experienced in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and the preparation of information for Environmental Impact Assessments. 
·Has good design and assessment skills.
·Has a track record of delivering successful project outcomes, including the negotiation of planning conditions and S106 obligations. 
·Enjoys leading projects, collaborating with clients and their advisors, and developing individuals within internal project teams. 
 The main competencies of the role are:
·Responsibility for day to day project management.
·Managing client relations and expectations.
·Responsibility for project financial matters, including preparation of brief and fee proposals, resource and cost management.
·Managing the performance of individuals.
·Providing technical guidance in planning and executing projects.
·Preparing and delivery of reports on project work.
·Liaising with local authorities and third parties to achieve project outcomes.
Salary is negotiable depending upon experience.
