Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the East with their search for an experienced planning officer to operate as a Senior Planner within the Development Management Department.

This role is initially set for a 6-month contract however it is almost certain roll over.
 
There is flexibility with this role however you will be required to meet with developers in and around the district.
 
You will be required to provide professional advice regarding a range of planning matters associated with development management, including pre-application enquiries/ planning performance agreements.
 
You will be required to achieve the appropriate balance between customer focus, quality and timeliness. This post will be responsible for handling planning applications for principally medium developments of housing, commercial including retail and renewable energy schemes, and occasionally may be responsible for some more complex proposals or providing assistance to Principal Planners/Team Leaders in managing strategic applications.
