Senior Planner
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Competitive + benefits
Office-based 4 days per week
I'm currently working in partnership with a well-established, private planning consultancy to appoint a Senior Planner for their growing Birmingham office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planner who is looking to progress their career within a respected consultancy that offers strong client exposure, high-quality work, and a clear pathway for advancement.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering a varied portfolio of projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will be given real responsibility, managing projects from early-stage appraisals through to submission and determination.
Key responsibilities will include:
·Managing planning applications and appeals independently
·Preparing planning statements, site appraisals and strategic advice
·Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and consultant teams
·Attending client meetings and providing commercially focused planning advice
·Supporting junior team members where appropriate
About You
·Minimum 2 years RTPI PQE
·4-5+ years' overall planning experience
·Majority of experience gained within a consultancy environment
·Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
·Confident managing applications with minimal supervision
·Strong written and verbal communication skills
·Midlands-based or willing to commute to Birmingham
Working Pattern
This is a Birmingham-based role with an expectation of 4 days per week in the office, supporting collaboration and team culture.
