Senior Planning Policy Officer
6-month contract

I am working closely with my LPA client based in Gloucestershire and assisting in their recruitment for an interim Senior Planning Policy Officer on an initial 6-month contract.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience of overseeing transport and infrastructure related policy work.
 
Hours of work up to 37 hours per week but part-time candidates will be considered. 
 
Requirements:
1.       An enthusiastic and experienced individual who can support more senior officers and take a lead on all aspects associated with producing a Plan whilst supporting more junior officers; 
 
2.       To lead on the preparation and procurement of specific evidence, including project managing consultants who are producing transport and infrastructure evidence;   
 
3.       Experience in working on Local Plans for Local Planning Authorities, ideally including examination experience; 
 
4.       To take responsibility for leading work on different technical workstreams, which will include transport and infrastructure related work and could include housing and employment supply monitoring;   
 
5.       Experience of devising approaches to consultation and engaging effectively with a wide range of different people and organisations;   
 
6.       To be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences, including officers and members
 
The role will primarily be remote working. However, there will be occasions where an office presence is required for in person meetings. This would usually be up to 4 times a month but may be more depending on the stage of plan preparation.
