Job description

Carrington West are recruiting for an exciting role for their local authority client based in the Home Counties. We are looking for an experienced Senior Development Management Planning Officer to join their Planning Department on an initial 4 month contract (Extensions likely).

The ideal candidate should have recent local authority planning experience and be able to hit the ground running with a mixed caseload inclusive of householder and minor applications as well as a small portion of major applications.
 
Responsibilities:
·To undertake a senior professional role across a wide range of development management work and development.
·To manage a wide range of planning applications including a proportion of 'majors' as well as dealing with planning appeals, enforcement cases, and the various range of consents required under the planning acts.
·To provide an advisory Development Management service to the public, prospective developers and other parts of the Council.
·To be involved in public consultation exercises.
·To assist in the discharge of the Council's statutory responsibilities as prescribed by the Planning Acts and related legislation.
 
Our client is willing to offer a flexible working situation, with site visits required once per week. Our client is looking for someone to start almost immediately, so if you are interested in going forward for the role then please don't hold back.
