Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the South West in their search for a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer. This will be offered on a 3-month rolling contract.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team to provide a highly effective, high quality and efficient Planning Enforcement service which investigates breaches of planning control, taking swift and decisive action where it is expedient to do so.

We are looking for a very experienced enforcement officer, who could undertake Planning contravention notices (PCN's), draft and issue Enforcement Notices.

·You will play a fundamental role in serving a variety of enforcement notices, drafting witness statements for inquiries, and negotiating for retrospective planning permission.

·You will be responsible for investigating and managing a caseload of planning enforcement cases, from small-scale breaches to large/complex cases which may require you to represent at planning appeals.

The successful candidate will have previous Planning Enforcement experience within a UK local authority; will have excellent communication skills and should feel comfortable working independently and in a team with support from Development Management and Legal Officers within the authority.
