Role: Senior Network Operations Engineer

My client is looking for a Senior Network Operations Engineer based in Epsom.
In the role you will support with resolving incidents, implementing customer requests, delivering on projects, proposing service improvements, and mentoring more junior members of the team.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
·Respond quickly and effectively to network issues, incidents, and outages.
·Resolving up to 3rd line network related incident support calls.
·Provide guidance to develop more junior members of the team.
·Perform system maintenance and upgrade tasks.
·Use and configure network monitoring tools to identify and address issues before service degradation occurs.
·Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, processes, and procedures.
·Action tickets in the Network Operations Team's queues in accordance with company-defined best practice.
·Delivery of BAU project work and user requests.
·Evaluating network performance issues.
·Keep abreast of developments in networking and network monitoring.
·Identifying opportunities for service improvement via automation or procedural change.
 
Skills and experience:
 
·Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching technologies.
·Cisco ASR and ISR routing platforms.
·BGP and OSPF.
·Wireless LAN technologies.
·Working within a helpdesk / support environment, dealing with customer issues through to resolution.
·Knowledge of monitoring & reporting systems.
 
You must also be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with:
 
·WAN optimization technologies.
·Quality of Service functionality.
·SD-WAN technologies
