We are looking to recruit a Senior Highways/Drainage Engineer to join our client's busy development infrastructure team. The development infrastructure team manages many multidisciplinary residential led projects, with design work spanning scoping and feasibility, technical support for planning and detailed design of infrastructure for implementation, and support during construction.
 
Our client supports multiple design teams throughout the UK and Ireland on a range of infrastructure projects including highway and water infrastructure schemes. They provide civil design to support our structural engineers on commercial, education, leisure, defence and other government buildings. This is an ideal opportunity for a suitably experienced Civil Engineer to develop their career.
 
This position is a long-term contract role which falls inside IR35. Our client is offering hybrid working and you will ideally work form the office 2 days per week.
 
Responsibilities 
 
- Work within a team to undertake and to review the production of studies, assessments and/or conceptual designs for development schemes including drainage, roads, utilities, earthworks and flooding
- Undertake and review the detailed design calculations, engineering design drawings, specifications and reports
- Use of MicroDrainage, Civils 3D and AutoCAD software, and document management systems
- Liaison with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to deliver the necessary approvals
- Assist in the preparation of fee proposals
 
Minimum Requirements
 
- Civil Engineering Degree and/or Masters Degree
- Relevant experience, ideally with a consultant in Highways and Drainage design for residential and commercial schemes, and other infrastructure schemes
- Experience in working with developer clients and contractors
- Proven track record in delivering infrastructure projects
 
Preferred Qualifications
 
- Incorporated or Chartered Member (or working towards) of the Institution of Civil Engineers or Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation
