Job description

Senior Planner
As a result of a sustained increase in workloads, an excellent opportunity has arisen in the North Wales area for a Planner / Programmer to support a very busy team with the planning, programming, and coordination of highways maintenance and improvement schemes.
 
As the Planner you will be required to:
 
·Manage the interface between the programme and the operational staff through structured meetings, programme and progress reporting
·Highlighting both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders
·Identifying programme risks and propose mitigation strategies
·Identifying programme opportunities and propose capture strategies
·Maintaining a fully logically linked Primavera P6 project programme
·Providing regular updates to the programme to allow project staff to plan their works
·Updating and reporting progress of the project at regular intervals to the Site Manager and Contracts Manager
·Reporting on key resources including staff; operatives, key plant and equipment, supply chain and other project milestones to allow the project to proceed in accordance with the baseline
·Assisting in the evaluation of early warnings and preparation of compensation events
·Ensuring that the established planning and scheduling methodology is followed
·Assisting with the preparation of the monthly programme report and dashboards and associated supporting information
·Produce fortnightly look ahead programmes for the Client and operations team
 
The successful Planner will be/have:
 
·A proficient user of Primavera P6
·Experience in planning on Infrastructure and Civil Engineering projects
·Experience of use of Microsoft project
·Challenging outputs and minimising cost and maximising value.
·NEC Change Management process
·Good understanding and applied experience of health & safety, quality, environment, finance and commercial. 
·Confidence meeting with clients and building rapport
·Ability to identify risks and opportunities
·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
