The Transportation business brings together the capabilities of their Rail, Highway and Local Transport teams, into a single business of 3,000 talented engineering professionals transport planners and consultants.
 
The Transportation business covers all aspects of multidisciplinary design and management, from inception and options appraisal through to detailed design and delivery/construction support. It is their centre of excellence for the design of roads and rail infrastructure projects.
 
To meet growth ambitions, They are seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to work with them, based out of one of the regional offices in Bristol or Gloucester.  They have an expanding portfolio of highway projects, and this role offers the opportunity to lead and support project delivery of major highways schemes for National Highways and Local Authority clients across the West within Frameworks including WECA, Gloucestershire Highways and Wiltshire highways to name but a few.
Alongside delivering projects you'll have the opportunity to develop future work opportunities as well as leading and developing team members.
 
You'll be office based (hybrid working) but with some travel to other locations within the region to ensure you can deliver value for clients.
 
Key responsibilities:
 
·Leading technical delivery of highway engineering projects and key technical input into multi-disciplinary projects.
·Oversee completion of designs and the production and review of design and construction ready documentation.
·Maintaining and developing excellent Client relationships.
·Support in work winning including preparation of bids and tenders.
·Support the development of more junior staff through technical training, on the job coaching and mentoring.
 
Key requirements:
·BEng, MEng, or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
·IEng or CEng through professional bodies, such as ICE or CIHT.  Alternatively, demonstrable progression towards relevant professional qualifications.
·Extensive experience of working with key clients, e.g., Local Government, National Government, Developers and/or major Contractors.
·Working knowledge of relevant design standards including, TSRGD, Manual for Streets 2, DMRB and associated documents including the Specification for Highway Works.
