Role: Senior Commissioning Engineer (Tender/Planning)
Location: Derby (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £450 p/d - Outside IR35/LTD Company
Duration: 12 months/Ongoing

Have you got experience in Pre-commissioning activities such as building proposals and tendering?
Overview of the Position
You will work closely with the commissioning lead and play a key part in preparing commissioning plans and tender proposals for projects focused on water and waste treatment systems.
Main Duties
·Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, offering technical expertise, advice, and assessing various options both in-person and remotely.
·Work independently, demonstrating initiative with minimal oversight.
·Analyze project documents and scope details to ensure full comprehension of client requirements.
·Contribute to the team's development of practical and innovative solutions, ensuring all aspects of the proposal are thoroughly evaluated.
·Identify unique commissioning aspects and incorporate them into the plan.
·Recognize potential commissioning risks and propose mitigations, such as requirements for temporary systems or unusual work schedules.
·Develop commissioning strategies that minimize the need for temporary setups, but ensure these are accounted for when unavoidable.
·Outline interactions with third-party equipment.
·Create a commissioning plan designed to ensure operational equipment and plant performance are not compromised.
·Compile a list of essential, intrusive operational works that will require specific methodologies before execution.
·Draft a formal commissioning strategy using the provided template.
·Review and assist in project scheduling to ensure commissioning stages are properly timed.
·Estimate the required resources and timelines for commissioning stages (dry/wet/process) based on experience and specific project elements.
·Review and validate the overall project timeline, flagging any unique work patterns (such as 7-day or night shifts) as necessary.

Candidate Profile
Essential Criteria
·A valid driver's license.
·At least 15 years of relevant commissioning experience, specifically within the water and waste industry.
·A formal qualification in EICA or Process Engineering or a related discipline.
·Previous work experience in the Severn Trent region.
·Familiarity with WIMES and Severn Trent's technical standards.
·Excellent written communication skills for producing clear, precise technical reports and methodologies.
·Ability to explain intricate engineering solutions to various audiences.
·Confident user of common software tools for recording, visualizing, and presenting information (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
·Knowledge of BIM360 Glue and Projectwise is a plus, though training can be provided.
