Job description

A leading multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy that has an outstanding reputation for delivering award-winning projects across the UK is now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to lead high-profile projects, mentor junior surveyors, and play a key role in client relationship management.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an MRICS-qualified (or nearly qualified) surveyor who wants to take ownership of varied projects, work with an established client base, and enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working.

The Role
In this position, you'll take charge of complex building surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You'll be providing expert advice on a wide range of surveying matters, including:

  • Building surveys, condition reports and defect analysis
  • Party wall matters and property law advice
  • Preparing specifications, schedules, drawings and other contract documentation
  • Carrying out site inspections and identifying risks
  • Managing pre-contract matters and working across full project lifecycles
  • Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors

What They're Looking For
To be considered, you'll need:

  • A degree in a relevant subject
  • MRICS or significant progress towards it
  • A strong grasp of building construction and property law (Party Wall etc. Act 1996)
  • Experience with JCT and other standard forms of contract
  • Pre-contract and project lifecycle experience
  • etrofit and Fire Safety remediation experience (advantageous)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport

You'll also bring excellent written reporting skills, numerical ability, and a confident, client-facing approach.

Why This Role Stands Out
This consultancy genuinely invests in its people - they hold the Investors in People Gold Award - and offer a clear career development pathway. Alongside hybrid working and an engaged, collaborative culture, you can expect:

  • Competitive salary
  • Option to buy/sell annual leave
  • Enhanced annual leave for long service
  • Professional qualification sponsorship
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Recruitment referral bonus
  • Employee assistance programme

With multiple UK offices, they operate nationally but deliver services with a local touch.
