Senior Bridge Engineer

If the answer is yes, please get in touch as I have a fantastic opportunity for a  Senior Bridge Engineer to join a Structures Team of a large private sector consultancy  , to deliver on a significant pipeline of work for an ongoing contract.  As the Senior Bridge Engineer, you will be familiar with highway maintenance schemes, joint replacements schemes and a strong technical awareness of expansion joints.
 
What you will be doing:
·Manage team members carrying out the structural design for major maintenance, improvement or strengthening of existing structures and the design of new structures using current codes of practice and European standards.
·Review and check the output of those team members and recommend to the Structures Manager whether to sign off the outputs.
·Prepare and review Approval in Principle documents in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
·Manage several structural maintenance/strengthening projects  
·Preparation of contract documents, procurement activities and contract administration
·Attend sites to check construction is being carried out in accordance with approved designs, drawings, and specifications.

What you will need to succeed:
·Significant experience in the design of highway and open space structures, particularly bridges.
·Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works and Eurocode standards.
·Experience of coordinating and delivering programs and projects to meet clearly defined outcomes and outputs.
·Writing complex technical reports for stakeholders such as elected members/councillors.
·Preferably chartered with the ICE or IStructE
