Job Title: Section Engineer
Location: South East England (Major Infrastructure Project)
Industry: Civil Engineering / Highways
Salary: £45,000-£49,000
About the Role:
We're currently seeking a skilled Section Engineer to support the delivery of a high-profile highways improvement scheme in the South East. This is a key role within a major infrastructure project, offering a chance to take ownership of work packages and contribute to the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of construction activities.
You'll lead a small site team, manage subcontractors, and ensure technical excellence throughout the construction phase - all while maintaining a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
·Manage specific sections of work from start to finish, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
·Oversee a small on-site team, ensuring inductions, role clarity, and ongoing development.
·Prepare and maintain short-term plans to support wider project milestones.
·Keep clear records and deliver Toolbox Talks to promote awareness and alignment.
·Support cost control and resource planning in line with project budgets.
·Promote a safety-first culture through site engagement, checks, and compliance.
· Coordinate subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with scope and timelines.
·Help embed environmental and sustainability initiatives within day-to-day operations.
What We're Looking For:
·Strong background in site engineering within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
·Leadership experience managing small teams and subcontractors.
·Excellent understanding of health and safety practices in construction.
·Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
·Skilled in short-term planning, progress reporting, and project controls.
·Committed to delivering high standards across safety, quality, and performance.
