Location: Remote
Salary: up to £60,000 - £70,000 p/a plus package
 
Carrington West are pleased to announce an exciting new role with our client who are a water, wastewater and pump specialist who operate across the UK. They're looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead the sales and business development of their thriving range of products to the regulated UK water companies.
 
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for sales performance, account management, forecasting, reporting and administration for scraper bridges, chemical dosing systems and a range of other fabricated products and third-party mechanical technologies. This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in a fast-growing and dynamic business.
 
The role would suit an experienced sales professional with a background in the water sector, ideally focused the development and management of new business in mechanical wastewater treatment solutions. You will need to be self-motivated, a good communicator and willing to work in a small business environment. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker who is able to demonstrate a track record of sales growth across previous roles.
 
This role can be home-based, office-based or hybrid working, but the individual will be linked to one of their offices in Hampshire, Norfolk, Staffordshire, or Glasgow.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
·Ensure accurate forecasting of opportunities, prospects and orders to enable stable business planning.
·Filter and prioritise opportunities to suit resource availability and to minimise disruption and surprises.
·Timely preparation or review of pre-qualifications and quotations in line with customer's expectations.
·Liaising with the estimating team to ensure quotations are correct, accurate and competitive, and reflect customer expectations, specifications and outcomes.
·Supervise and manage Sales Engineer(s) within the team.
·Build and maintain strong multi-level customer relationships.
·Be in touch with customers' reality and the pressures, issues and concerns that drive their behaviours.
·Act as the contact for the accounts owned and provide market data and competition analysis.
·Use creative business development techniques to keep the companies brand ahead of the competition.
·Have and maintain an in-depth product and brand knowledge.
·Lead the development of enhanced pricing systems and more intelligent proposals generation for greater consistency.
·Aim to delight our customers with market-leading account management, innovative and flexible thinking, first-class presentation and going the extra mile.
·Resolve issues with customers as they might arise using tact, responding quickly and appropriately.
·Ensure all members of the sales team maintain a record of sales development and progress on the company's IFS system.
·Co-ordinate the negotiation of commercial terms.
·Conduct project handover meetings to the Contracts teams.
·Co-ordinate, chair and minute monthly Business Development meetings.
·Provide monthly sales reports to the leadership team.
·Visits to client sites and offices and attendance at client and industry events.
 
 
Key Skills & Experience:
 
·Engineering or science degree, HND or equivalent, ideally with a professional sales qualification.
·Minimum 5-10 years postgraduate experience in a business development, sales or customer management role within the water sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
·Demonstrates a strong level of customer focus and a clear understanding of relationship development and management.
·Ability to manage self and others.
·Shows drive, resilience, teamworking and a willingness to take responsibility to deliver results.
·Advanced MS Office skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data sets.
·Report writing skills.
·Good communication skills, able to interact effectively with Clients and colleagues.
·Strong analytical and interpretive skills, ability to deliver data in a user friendly and relevant manner.
·Organisational skills with a commitment to the role and a keen eye for detail.
·Willingness to travel nationwide (including overnight stays)
