Job description

Are you a quantity surveyor  with consultancy experience?
 
Have you worked client side previously?
 
My client is a leading consultancy who are looking for multiple positions in their NorthEast Office.
 
The office is based in Leeds but you will be able to work from any of their offices or even work from home. Their will be occasional expectancy to visit office but must be prepared to be based in clients office on assignments. Work is generally across the M62 corridor
 
Roles they are currently recruiting for at all level include Estimator, Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Project Controls, Risk Manager.
 
They work in mist sectors but transport is especially busy including rail projects. Sectors include: civils, rail, highways, energy, industry, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, infrastructure and nuclear.
 
Client side and previous consultancy experience is a must.
 
Salary: £30,000 - £65,000
 
You will be asked to:-
 
Provide pre and post contract quantity surveying services and support more junior members of the team in doing the same
Plan, organise and control your own workload
Continue to develop your technical knowledge and experience of quantity surveying
Ensure the quality and timeliness of service delivery to colleagues and clients
Provide full efficient and effective services in all technical and contractual aspects of professional practice
 
Requirements
 
Achieved MRICS status
Conversant in all general aspects of quantity surveying
Ability to prepare estimates
Experienced in utilising software systems e.g. CATO, CAD Measure, etc.
Experience of working in the property and transport sectors, including rail
Broad understanding of standard forms of contract, including NEC & JCT
Ability to lead on the preparation, monitoring and forecasting against budgets during design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning phases of a project
Ability to produce financial and commercial reports
Awareness and understanding of efficient commercial administration of projects
Able to accept responsibility
Regular client interfaces and development of longstanding professional relationships
Ability to communicate to both superiors and subordinates
Knowledge and understanding of the component parts of a project and overall construction costs
Flexibility on being office or site based
Full clean driving licence
