Are you a Quantity Surveyor with experience on Rail projects?

Are you looking to work for a smaller business where your contribution will make a difference?

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000
Location: Manchester, full office attendance with flexible working hours (eg start & finish the working day earlier or later depending on preference).

A Rail SME engineering and construction contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support on their Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) projects in the rail sector.

In this role you will be:

  • Generating applications, tracking certificates, invoices, and payments.
  • Managing Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and change requests.
  • Assisting in the preparation of estimates.
  • Compiling and presenting monthly reports.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of project costs.
  • Familiarise yourself with project contracts.
  • Supporting the review of terms and conditions.
  • Preparing subcontract documentation.
  • Being well-versed in project schedules and referring to them.
  • Collaborate with the client's commercial team.
  • Dedication to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 18 months of experience in quantity surveying within the construction or rail sector.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or a related field.
  • 2 years of quantity surveying experience.
  • NEC 3 contract experience.
  • Navigating the change process.
  • Conducting negotiations.
  • Estimating project costs.
  • Managing applications and certificates.

Additional Information:
This will likely be a one stage interview process; interviews will be held for successful candidates within a week of application and the preferred method will be face-to-face in their office.
