Quality Engineer
Salary- £50,000-55,000
 
The role-
The jobholder is responsible for supporting the Discipline Quality Managers in the follow up of the
QA requirements, especially the Inspection Check Sheets as well as ensuring that the works comply
with the contract requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspections on site to confirm the adequacy of the checking system and authorised
personnel.
- Assist the construction team with the control of subcontractors work regarding the standard of
work offered.
- Where the works do not comply ensure that Non-conformance Reports are produced,
preventative action is taken, and that they are closed in a timely manner. Offer advice were
applicable.
- Prevent defective work being produced.
- Monitor the quality of materials delivered to site via goods inwards inspections.
- Ensure attendance when snagging of completed work takes place and the closing out of these
works on an ongoing basis.
- Report directly to the Head of Quality on problems encountered on site.
- Staff training in QC inspection, offer advice and support to the team.
- Involvement in the collation and completion of project record packages.
 
Requirements-
Degree in engineering, environment, or relevant science-based subject
- Experience of construction operations for major projects
- Understanding of ISO 14001, CCS and CEEQUAL
- Working towards Chartership of a professional institution e.g. already a graduate or practitioner member of IEMA or equivalent
- IT competent and numerate/logical approach
- Logical in approach with an ability to plan and deliver tasks
